Little Fernando

I got some heartbreaking news when I went into work this morning that little Fernando had passed away last night.  This was very unexpected for a lot of us who had no idea he had been sick the past couple of days.  I didn’t get any details on what exactly happened, but they knew it wasn’t going to be good.  Luckily, I believe he was with Encar when it happened, so he wasn’t alone.  He was so sweet and always made everyone smile.  The volunteers and tourists alike fell in love with him at first sight.  He will be sorely missed.  It was a difficult day.

I knew there would be bad days at the center.  I guess I’m fortunate that it’s taken this long for something to happen.  I’m just glad that Fernando was saved when he lost his mom and that he was surrounded by people that loved and cared for him.  I wonder how little Palma feels, since she spent everyday with him.  I didn’t see her today, but had been taking care of her on the days it was raining.  Poor kids…

So sorry to read this one. It is wonderful that Jaguar Rescue exists to help as much as it does.

Oh no. Little Fernando was probably one of the best things about being there. I’m thankful that he had love and care in his little lifetime. Is he the baby your strapped around your waist? He looked like one of the most lovable animals ever. I hope he died happily in his sleep.

I’m not sure, I can’t locate that picture. Thanks for your condolences.
